Foregone Conclusion - Battle Over, as Fairstar Concedes
The combination of Fairstar and Dockwise made perfect sense, allowing for business expansion with little overlap of the businesses. The fact that Dockwise amassed a majority of the outstanding shares right out of the box did not hurt the chances of success either. Beginning in early July, the dominoes began to fall as the recalcitrant shareholders capitulated in short order. On July 2nd, Dockwise acquired 17,834,122 shares increasing its holdings from 60.4%, where it had been stuck, to 80.4%.
